7 red flags in OnlyFans agency contracts

Account access, exit penalties, payment redirection, ownership grabs: the clauses documented in the BBC investigation, and what fair looks like instead.

The four walk-away clauses

One: any request for your login credentials. If they hold the password, they hold your income, and 'we need it to manage your account' is how creators end up locked out of their own pages. Platform tools and collaborator access exist for exactly this reason.

Two: revenue shares at 50 percent or above. Documented deals run 50 to 70 percent, which, after the platform's own 20 percent, leaves you with as little as 24 cents per dollar your fans spend.

Three: exit penalties. Fees for leaving, 'liquidated damages,' or buy-out clauses mean the contract is a cage, not a service agreement.

Four: payments routed through their account. Your money should land in your bank first, always, with their fee invoiced against it, not the reverse.

The three negotiate-hard clauses

Five: broad exclusivity, across platforms, content types, or 'all business activities.' Scope it to exactly what they manage or strike it.

Six: auto-renewal with long notice windows. A 12-month term that silently renews unless you object 90 days early is designed to be missed.

Seven: content ownership language. A license to use your content for promotion during the term is normal. Assignment of rights, 'perpetual' or 'irrevocable' anything, is a land grab.

What fair actually looks like

Fair looks boring: defined services, a defined fee, 30-day exit, your accounts, your money, your content. If reading your contract feels like reading a hostage letter, believe it.

And if you'd rather not need the contract at all: the flat-fee back office exists now. Protection, playbooks, and coaching without a percentage, without account access, without lock-in. That's not a pitch so much as the standard the whole category should be held to.
